This is a rewarding, full-time contract position, starting as soon as possible and extending through the end of the school year. Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Valid state licensure (or eligibility) for TN SLPs
- Previous school-based SLP experience preferred, but ambitious new graduates holding CCCs are welcome to apply
- Ability to travel between various schools within the county
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide therapy services and assessments to students across elementary, middle, and high school settings as assigned
- Work closely with educators, parents, and special education staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Evaluate students’ speech and language abilities using standardized tools and create meaningful therapy goals
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress notes in compliance with district requirements
- Participate in eligibility meetings, IEP conferences, and interdisciplinary team discussions
- Offer professional guidance to school staff on strategies for supporting communication needs in the classroom
