Speech Language Pathologist in Kansas City, MO

This full-time contract opportunity runs from late August through May, with consistent hours from 9am to 4:40pm, Monday through Friday. The position focuses on supporting students at the high school and middle school levels, making a real difference in their academic and personal growth.
You will be engaged primarily at Liberty High School—three days a week—providing essential services for students in specialized classrooms (ESC and BEST, approx. 11 students) and offering additional support (“overflow”) at Heritage Middle School and, potentially, a third building in the district for the remaining two days each week. This role promises both variety and the chance to positively impact students across multiple educational stages.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active SLP license required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) strongly preferred
- Previous school-based SLP or experience with school-aged children desired
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt interventions for diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech/language therapy to students based on IEPs and identified needs
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to maximize student progress
- Manage a varied caseload with professionalism and efficiency
- Keep accurate documentation, records, and reports
- Contribute to multidisciplinary teams in assessment and planning
