A unique contract opportunity is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide essential services to elementary students with high needs near Kansas City, MO. This full-time role is dedicated to the Extended School Year (ESY) session from June 1 to June 30, with the holiday observed on June 19. You will work onsite, collaborating closely with educators and staff to help students achieve their communication goals.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid SLP license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Demonstrated experience in a school setting, preferably with elementary-aged students
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy documentation
- Passion for supporting children with high needs in their communication and language development
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to elementary students as outlined in IEPs
- Conduct assessments, analyze results, and develop appropriate treatment goals
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to create a supportive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and ongoing communication with all stakeholders
