This contracted position offers an opportunity for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students in an elementary school and Pre-K setting in Jacksonville, NC, for the 2026-2027 school year. As a contracted employee, you will provide essential speech and language services within a local school district, focusing on supporting early childhood communication development and addressing speech and hearing disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings; administer formal and informal assessments to identify speech-language needs.
- Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans tailored to individual students and groups.
- Maintain accurate student records and prepare periodic reports to track progress and outcomes.
- Consult with parents, teachers, and other school personnel to coordinate effective communication and intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support management of speech-language disorders in the educational environment.
- Adjust intervention strategies based on student performance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations governing school speech-language services.
- Facilitate timely and safe evacuation of students during drills or emergencies.
- Travel between various school sites as required.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Hold or be eligible to hold the North Carolina Licensure from the Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NCBOESLPA).
- Considerable knowledge of childhood speech and hearing development and communication disorders.
- Experience working within educational settings supporting early childhood learners (Pre-K and Elementary).
- Understanding of laws and regulations related to school speech-language services.
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining student records and reporting.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
- Physical ability to perform duties including standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and monitoring students.
