Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting student success in a dynamic school setting near Independence, MO. This full-time position offers the chance to collaborate with a dedicated team, providing speech and language services across multiple school sites within the district. Your schedule will run Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:40pm, ensuring a balance between professional challenge and personal life.
Working primarily with students at the high school level in both ESC and BEST classrooms, you'll address diverse communication needs. Your expertise will also be called upon to provide supportive “overflow” services at Heritage Middle School and possibly one additional site, fostering a consistent and positive impact throughout the district. Expect your week to include three days at Liberty High School, with the remaining time at other locations.
We’re seeking candidates who bring:
- An active state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Previous experience in school-based SLP roles is highly valued
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Flexibility to travel between multiple school sites as needed
- Passion for supporting students with varying needs in inclusive environments
Key responsibilities in this role:
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans for students
- Deliver both direct and consultative speech-language services
- Collaborate closely with educators, special education teams, and families
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
