School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Waterford, Michigan
A K-12 educational setting serving students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist fully fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) to join a partially residential school in Waterford, MI. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech-language therapy services across the K-12 spectrum, emphasizing communication modalities best suited for DHH students
- Collaborate closely with special education teams and interpreters to support students’ academic and social communication goals
- Utilize ASL fluently to facilitate effective communication and therapy sessions
- Monitor progress and adjust therapeutic approaches in response to student needs
- Participate in team meetings, IEP development, and family communication to support holistic student success
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Speech-Language Pathology License required
- Full fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is mandatory
- Experience working with DHH students strongly preferred
- Ability to work in a partially residential school environment serving varied disabilities including visual impairments and multiple disabilities
- Strong interpersonal and situational problem-solving skills
Position Details:
- Contract duration: ASAP through June 11, 2026, with the possibility of extended summer services
- Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (32.5 paid hours per week)
- Location serves nearby communities including Grand Blanc, Flushing, and Goodrich, MI
