School Speech Language Pathologist - Hartford, Connecticut
Step into a rewarding school-based opportunity serving elementary students in a vibrant community near Hartford, CT. This onsite, full-time contract position offers the chance to make a real difference while working with a supportive district. Two positions are available, each featuring a 35-hour workweek and an engaging elementary caseload. You may serve across two school sites, providing diverse professional experiences throughout the week.
Ideal candidates possess strong backgrounds in Speech-Language Pathology within school settings and hold CCC credentials, although Clinical Fellows (CFs) are also encouraged to apply—district supervision will be provided as capacity allows. SLPAs are not considered for these roles. The district values candidates who already have the necessary Connecticut licensure in hand; upfront licenses will expedite your onboarding.
Your role will include:
- Delivering speech-language therapy services to elementary-aged students in a school-based environment
- Managing a full caseload across one or two sites
- Collaborating with educators, families, and other specialists to ensure students meet their IEP goals
- Conducting assessments, maintaining documentation, and participating in multidisciplinary meetings
- Adhering to district requirements, including fingerprints and thorough background checks
Key qualifications:
- School-based SLP experience
- Active Connecticut SLP license
- CCC certification is preferred, but CFs with supervision access are welcomed
- Willingness to work onsite and occasionally travel between schools
- Ability to pass district fingerprinting and background check process
The hiring process includes a convenient Zoom interview. This role features a pay rate of $90 per hour for CCC-certified professionals.
