Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Hartford, CT
A rewarding contract opportunity for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is available in Hartford, CT, serving two elementary schools. This role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ communication development across diverse settings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized speech-language therapy services to an active caseload of approximately 30 elementary students.
- Deliver interventions focused on improving articulation, language, fluency, voice, and other communication disorders.
- Schedule therapy sessions efficiently across two school sites, working 4 days per week (3 days at one school and 1 day at the other).
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create comprehensive treatment plans and monitor student progress.
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation following district and state requirements.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to goal-setting.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC).
- Experience providing speech therapy services in the school setting, preferably with elementary-age students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to manage a moderate caseload and adapt therapy strategies to meet diverse student needs.
- Familiarity with current best practices and state regulations for school-based speech therapy.
Location and Schedule:
- Based in Hartford, CT.
- Contract position from ASAP through the end of the school year.
- Four days per week: three days at one elementary school and one day at a second site.
