Pediatric School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Glendale, California
Make a direct impact in the lives of students by providing speech and language support to a diverse K–12 population. This contract-based opportunity is located near Glendale, CA, with assignments at a single school site. You'll bring your expertise in pediatric communication disorders to a collaborative educational setting, helping students achieve their fullest potential both academically and socially. Work just 15 hours per week in a supportive environment, with access to supervision and ongoing training.
Your experience in school-based speech therapy—as well as familiarity with healthcare and pediatric settings—will be key as you carry out essential speech and language pathology services. Candidates must hold either current California SLP licensure or certification through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). Whether fully certified or completing your Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), your skills and passion are valued here.
Requirements:
- Valid CA SLP license or CTC credential required
- Experience with K–12 caseloads in school settings preferred
- Expertise in pediatric speech, language, and communication disorders
- SLP-CCC or CFY candidates welcome
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities
- Commitment to ethical and evidence-based practice
- Fingerprinting and school onboarding required prior to start
- Ability to work onsite as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders in students across grades K–12
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans in collaboration with teachers, families, and other school professionals
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school climate
- Utilize both established practices and innovative techniques to maximize student outcomes
