School Speech Language Pathologist - Gaithersburg, Maryland
Step into an impactful role supporting student success as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Rockville and greater Washington DC area! This is a contract opportunity spanning the upcoming school year, from August 25, 2026 to June 11, 2027. You'll enjoy a balanced schedule of 35 hours per week, providing services across up to two or three campuses, with thoughtfully assigned caseloads that match your preferences and location.
As part of a supportive school environment, you’ll help elementary and middle school students achieve their communication goals through skilled assessment and collaborative interventions. Caseloads will be tailored to your comfort level, beginning the year lighter and increasing as needed.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Active Maryland SLP license required—please provide documentation.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) strongly preferred; exceptional Clinical Fellows (CFY) also considered.
- Completion of House Bill background check prior to start.
- At least one year of school-based experience preferred, unless you possess excellent references or demonstrable expertise.
- Availability for an eligibility and credentialing interview and flexibility for prescreen discussions.
- Previous experience with the district should be disclosed during interviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language services to K-8 students, managing a caseload adjusted to your skills and comfort.
- Work on-site across assigned campus(es), building positive relationships with staff, students, and families.
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation in accordance with state and district requirements.
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
