Desired Background and Qualifications:
- Active Speech Language Pathology license in the state of Michigan (SLP-CCC preferred, CFY with temp license accepted)
- Previous school-based experience is highly valued
- Ability to collaborate with staff and parents to ensure student success
- SLPs should be prepared to discuss their experience supporting urban youth and identify resources that benefit students and families in urban areas
- Must provide official university transcripts prior to placement consideration
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver therapeutic interventions and assessments for K-12 student caseloads
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Serve as a vital resource for teachers, staff, and families regarding speech-related concerns and supports
- Maintain accurate reports and contribute to multi-disciplinary teams
- Engage in ongoing professional collaboration within the school environment
This assignment is set to begin as soon as possible and runs through June 2027, providing a stable and rewarding opportunity for growth. A typical week will involve 35 onsite hours, with priority given to candidates who are available in person, though strong virtual candidates may also be considered.
