School Speech Pathology | East Hartford, Connecticut
This contract position offers the opportunity to provide in-person speech-language therapy services at two schools in East Hartford, CT, starting immediately through June 10, 2025. Working full-time Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, you will contribute to the developmental success of students from Pre-Kindergarten through Kindergarten.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver comprehensive speech-language therapy targeting assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and receptive and expressive language development delays.
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation assessments to identify students’ needs accurately.
- Prepare clear, thorough reports based on assessments and observations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with parents, educators, and team members to monitor students’ developmental progress and address any challenges.
Qualifications:
- Must hold or be eligible for certification by the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) and a teaching certificate from the Connecticut Department of Education (DOE).
- Previous school-based experience is advantageous but not required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
- Flexibility and problem-solving aptitude to adapt to various student needs and classroom environments.
