This opportunity is for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position within a special education cooperative serving multiple school districts in and around Emporia, Kansas. The role offers the unique chance to work directly with students in various locations up to an hour from the main campus, providing specialized speech and language services tailored to individual student needs.
Locations served include Emporia, North Lyon County, South Lyon County, Chase County, Madison, Hamilton, and Morris County. Caseloads typically range from 10-12 students for one day per week, scaling up to 50-55 students over a full five-day schedule, providing flexibility for both full-time and part-time candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services to students in accordance with Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families to support student communication goals.
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation aligning with district and state guidelines.
- Travel to multiple school sites within the designated cooperative area as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid Kansas Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license.
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
- Experience working in school-based environments.
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach.
- Ability to manage a caseload efficiently in a variety of school settings.
This contract position runs through May 20, 2026, with a schedule that can be adjusted based on candidate preferences for full-time or part-time hours. Work is onsite at schools within the cooperative service area.
