Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Elgin, IL
Make a real impact by supporting students’ communication skills across multiple school settings. This full-time contract position is ideal for a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist interested in working alongside educators and support teams to provide evaluations and staff assistance. Your expertise will be utilized on an Early Childhood Assessment Team and in an elementary building, with responsibilities spanning several schools within one district. The role offers a structured weekday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., totaling 37.5 hours each week.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois SLP credentials required
- Experience or interest in school-based settings
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills
- Collaborative spirit and adaptability to varied age groups and school environments
- Ability to effectively support staff in speech and language-related matters
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech-language evaluations for students as assigned
- Serve as a member of the Early Childhood Assessment Team
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to deliver support and consultation
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to help determine student needs and services
- Ensure timely paperwork and compliance with state/district special education guidelines
- Travel between multiple buildings within the district as needed
