School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Des Plaines, Illinois
Make an impact supporting schools as a Speech Language Pathologist serving multiple locations within one district. This full-time contract role offers the opportunity to work with students across a variety of age groups, adapting to diverse needs. You'll collaborate closely with an Early Childhood Assessment Team as well as faculty in elementary learning environments, taking on a highly interactive and evaluative role rather than managing a specific student caseload.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathology credentials required
- Previous school-based SLP experience preferred
- Strong skills conducting speech/language evaluations and assessments
- Ability to provide professional support and consultation to teachers and staff
- Flexibility to assist at multiple schools as district needs dictate
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations for students as needed
- Participate as a valued member of the Early Childhood Assessment Team
- Provide consultative support to educators to best meet student needs
- Maintain detailed records and comply with required documentation standards
- Collaborate with parents and school staff to develop strategies and recommendations
- Travel between district schools (within close proximity) during the week
