School Speech and Language Pathologist | Newark, New Jersey
A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services in an elementary school setting located in Newark, NJ. This position is ideal for professionals with experience working in schools, particularly supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The role offers the chance to deliver impactful therapeutic interventions and support the communication needs of a diverse caseload.
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy to an elementary school caseload of 19 students, focusing primarily on ASD.
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to support students’ communication goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports according to school standards.
- Deliver services on-site during contract hours.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC or Clinical Fellowship Year completed).
- Experience providing speech-language services in school settings.
- Ability to deliver teletherapy services is a plus.
- Familiarity with working alongside Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) in educational or healthcare environments.
- Strong understanding of ASD and related communication challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Schedule and Location:
- This is a contract position located in Newark, NJ.
- Work schedule is two days per week, Thursdays and Fridays.
- Hours: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
