A contract opportunity is now available for a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to provide support in an educational setting near Dowagiac, MI. This position begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the current school year, offering a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week at a local learning center.
Ideal candidates should bring a passion for supporting student development and the necessary skills to collaborate with faculty and families in delivering impactful speech and language services.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred, but strong Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates will be considered.
- Previous experience working in a school environment is valuable.
- Solid understanding of a variety of speech/language disorders and assessment tools.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student learning and engagement.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records and progress notes according to school requirements.
- Educate families and colleagues regarding strategies to support students’ speech and language goals.
