School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Danville, Virginia

As a full-time speech-language pathologist working with elementary-aged children, you’ll help guide students’ communication development through creative intervention and skilled assessment—building connections that last a lifetime.
Your work will primarily focus on elementary school students, addressing a range of speech/language challenges and supporting each child's journey to success. While most responsibilities center on one site, there is the possibility of minimal travel between local schools to offer your expertise where it’s most needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Strong grasp of individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborative goal setting
- Excellent communication skills with students, educators, and families
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional growth
Role & Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders for elementary-aged students
- Develop and implement personalized intervention strategies
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure comprehensive care
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing progress monitoring
- Document services and progress in accordance with school and district guidelines
- Provide support and education to students, staff, and caregivers as needed
Full-time, contract opportunity located near Chatham, VA, with a dynamic and supportive school team. Some flexibility may be required for minimal travel between nearby sites.
