This full-time, onsite contract opportunity spans two campuses, supporting both a middle school and a high school (caseload approximately 50 students) in the Houston area. The role focuses on providing comprehensive speech therapy services to a diverse student population, and requires proficiency in sign language to best meet the needs of the community.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Active Texas SLP license or eligibility
- ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) highly preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in sign language
- Previous experience in school settings strongly preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver assessment, diagnosis, and direct therapy for students with speech, language, or communication disorders
- Document student progress and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and families
- Coordinate services across two campuses (middle and high school) while managing a caseload of about 50 students
- Consult with educators, administrators, and parents to ensure effective strategies for student improvement
- Participate in school-based meetings and provide guidance on communication supports
- Remain up-to-date on best practices in school speech-language pathology
