Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Cicero, IL
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist in a middle school setting near Berwyn, IL. Collaborate with the onsite SLP and contribute to fostering a positive, communicative environment for students with mild to moderate disabilities. This flexible part-time role covers 2-3 days per week (13 to 19.5 hours) throughout the academic year, from August 19th to May 28th.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement required
- Experience supporting students in a school environment is strongly preferred
- Comfortable working with middle school-aged learners
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and support existing staff
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- District fingerprinting clearance required prior to start
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 15-20 middle school students
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy, both individually and in small groups
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with the school team
- Utilize creative approaches to address a variety of mild to moderate communication needs
- Assist with progress monitoring, documentation, and participation in IEP meetings
- Serve as a resource for staff and families on speech-language supports
