Make a significant impact in the lives of young learners by providing essential speech-language support to preschool students. This full-time contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a school setting, supporting developmental growth during critical early years. You will provide services to a preschool caseload, covering for FMLA leave during one of two scheduling windows: August through November, or October through January.
Your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) will be instrumental in fostering communication, language, and social skills among your students. You'll join a dedicated educational team, collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to deliver high-quality intervention and support.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Illinois SLP license and active Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Experience working in school-based or pediatric settings (strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with preschool-level interventions and IEP processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational abilities and flexibility to adapt to varying caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for preschool students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver direct therapy sessions and consultative support
- Document and track student progress in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Communicate regularly with families, teachers, and related service providers
- Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive educational environment
This is a full-time, 35–37.5 hour per week contract role based within a supportive school community. You’ll have the chance to shape the foundational communication skills of preschoolers during a pivotal stage of development.
