Pediatric School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Chicago Ridge, Illinois
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, working with preschool and early elementary students. This role is a leave-of-absence coverage running from October through January, focusing on supporting young learners’ communication skills in a collaborative and nurturing school environment near Chicago Ridge, IL.
Ideal candidates are skilled in providing therapy, assessments, and developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and are passionate about helping children thrive academically and socially. Your week will consist of 33.75 hours, with a schedule from 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM, working within a caseload model to maximize impact.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Illinois SLP-CCC credential required
- Current IL PEL (Professional Educator License)
- Experience with pediatric and school-based caseloads highly preferred
- Open to both Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates and experienced SLPs
- Familiarity with direct therapy, assessments, evaluations, and IEP creation
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy to preschool through second-grade students
- Conduct assessments and comprehensive evaluations as required
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals tailored to individual needs
- Document student progress and strategies effectively
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student growth
