Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting early learners as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist. This position covers a leave of absence from October through January, serving primarily preschool-aged students, with some extending up to 2nd grade. You’ll enjoy a consistent weekday schedule, working from 8:00 am – 3:15 pm, totaling 33.75 hours per week in a collaborative, caseload-driven school environment.

An ideal candidate will bring a passion for enhancing communication skills in young children, paired with an understanding of school-based service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Illinois SLP-CCC credential
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Experience with pediatric populations, particularly with preschool and early elementary students
  • Prior involvement with school-based caseload models highly valued
  • Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) applicants with appropriate state credentials encouraged to apply

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy to assigned students
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine student needs and measure progress
  • Develop and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, collaborating with staff and families
  • Maintain clear and timely documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
  • Provide effective consultation and communicate progress to teachers and families
