Speech Therapist in Aurora, IL
A skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to provide essential speech therapy services in a K-12 school setting for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse caseload focused primarily on elementary and middle school students, particularly those enrolled in autism programs.
Location: Aurora, IL
Duration: August 13, 2025 – May 27, 2026
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM
Caseload: Approximately 35-40 students, mainly in elementary and middle school autism programs
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans to support student goals
- Provide direct speech therapy services to students with diverse communication needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency in interventions
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with regulatory standards
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Experience working in school-based settings, especially with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) programs, preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
