A therapeutic day school specializing in supporting children with severe emotional disabilities in Chicago, IL, is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a contract position during the current school year and extended school year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group speech and language therapy to students aged 3 to 21 years old.
- Manage caseloads with no more than 10 students per classroom, focusing on 1:1 therapy sessions.
- Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals, including thorough IEP writing and documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student progress.
- Maintain scheduled hours of approximately 15 hours per week plus compensatory minutes, increasing to around 30 hours per week for the remainder of the school year.
- Follow the school schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:15 AM to 2:15 PM; extended school year runs Monday through Thursday.
Qualifications:
- Valid SLP license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Master’s degree in a speech-related field.
- Experience with IEP development and implementation.
- Comfort working onsite with direct student interaction—interviews conducted onsite.
- No Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) or Clinical Fellows in Year (CFY) will be considered.
