SLP in Hamden, CT
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students in grades 5 and 6 as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract position spans from mid-April 2026 to mid-June 2027, working 32.5 hours per week. Engage with a caseload of approximately 35-40 students presenting a range of mild to severe needs including autism, learning disabilities, speech or language impairment, ADHD, and emotional disabilities. Your expertise will be vital in fostering communication growth and academic success.
Key Qualifications:
- Active SLP license; CCC or CFY accepted
- School-based or pediatric SLP experience preferred
- Skilled in direct and consultative therapy in both in-person and teletherapy formats
- Strong background in IEP implementation and documentation
- Confidence in conducting speech/language evaluations (initial and re-evaluations)
- Familiarity with communicative, articulation, and pragmatic language goals
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language services (direct and consultative) aligned with IEPs
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt strategies to various disabilities and student strengths
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, goal development, and progress reporting
- Offer both onsite and remote therapy as needed
