School Speech Therapist - Chicago, Illinois

Provide specialized speech-language therapy services in a dynamic school environment located in Chicago, IL. This part-time, contract position offers an opportunity to impact the lives of students during the Extended School Year (ESY) from June 10th through July 9th, working 17 hours weekly, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver comprehensive speech-language therapy targeting assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and receptive and expressive language development delays.
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing tailored to student needs.
- Prepare detailed and insightful reports following assessments and observations.
- Work effectively with students ages 2 to 22 years with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives.
- Collaborate and communicate clearly with parents, educators, and team members to support students’ developmental progress.
Qualifications:
- Must hold or be eligible to hold an Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) license and a Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Prior experience in schools is an advantage but not required.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team approach.
- Flexibility and problem-solving abilities to adapt to student and program needs.
