School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Blue Springs, Missouri
Unlock an exciting opportunity as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist, working with students across multiple schools near Blue Springs, MO. Take your expertise to the next level by offering vital support to learners within high school and middle school settings, focusing on both individualized and overflow caseloads. Your primary location will be a high school, assisting students in specialized ESC and BEST classrooms, with additional 2 days per week providing support at other school buildings within the district.
What we’re seeking:
- Active SLP license (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology preferred)
- Previous experience in school-based SLP roles, especially within high school or middle school settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility to adapt between multiple buildings during the week
- Dependable, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs
What you’ll do:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students in self-contained and general education classrooms
- Evaluate students, write and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and participate in eligibility and review meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other service providers to optimize student progress
- Offer overflow support, addressing needs across identified buildings and supplementing where caseloads require
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and adhere to district policies and timelines
