Speech Pathology - Smithville, MO
Step into an engaging and supportive educational environment as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the full school year, beginning mid-August and continuing through the end of May. There’s also the potential to extend your impact with a summer session in June. This is a full-time contract opportunity working with a dedicated caseload of approximately 40 students experiencing diverse speech and language delays, with weekday hours from 8:20am to 3:50pm.
Ideal candidates are passionate about making a difference in school-based settings, collaborating with educators and families to empower students. You’ll provide direct speech-language therapy, contribute to Response to Intervention (RtI) initiatives, support students utilizing AAC devices, and be actively involved in the assessment and evaluation process.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
- School-based SLP experience or a strong desire to work in schools.
- Familiarity with evaluating and treating students with speech or language delays.
- Experience or interest in working with AAC devices.
- Competence in developing IEPs, writing evaluation reports, and performing assessments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to collaboration in student-centered meetings and multidisciplinary teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized therapy to students with a range of needs.
- Conduct assessments and contribute to eligibility and evaluation reports.
- Write and implement IEPs tailored to students’ goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and parents to ensure effective interventions.
- Participate in meetings and support student progress through RtI and data-driven decision making.
- Assist with AAC device implementation and support.
