Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Professional Educator Certification required.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited institution.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations governing special education services.
- Understanding of pediatric/adolescent cognitive and physical development, including expertise with relevant diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with terminology associated with learning and physical disabilities.
- Ability to analyze data and interpret policy, laws, and procedures related to the education of children with disabilities.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Preferred: ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive assessment, intervention, and therapy for students with speech and language needs.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with legal requirements.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to student evaluations.
- Stay current on the latest practices and legal changes in special education.
This is a strictly on-site position (remote or virtual work is not available) and will offer varied assignments within the school setting, tailored to where your expertise is most needed.
