What You’ll Need:
- Current Maine SLP license and Educator Certification
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience providing speech and language services within a school or pediatric setting
- Background or interest in working with AAC devices and students with diverse communication needs
- Strong communication and collaborative skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs, emphasizing those using or benefiting from AAC
- Provide direct therapy, consultation, and support within a K-12 educational environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administration, and other service providers to support student progress
- Educate and train school staff and caregivers in AAC device usage and best communication practices
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and district policies
