Speech Language Pathologist in Beaverton, OR
This contract opportunity is for two Oregon Licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to provide essential services within school and special education settings. Both roles offer full-time employment (1.0 FTE) Monday through Friday, working eight hours per day with an unpaid lunch break. The second position involves assignments across multiple locations within Multnomah County and can accommodate candidates interested in part-time employment less than 1.0 FTE. Please note, virtual positions and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) are not being considered.
Primary Locations:
- Position 1: Student Services, Special Education SLP – Wheatley School (Beaverton, OR)
- Position 2: Student Services, Special Education SLP – Multiple site assignment within Multnomah County, including regional educational and treatment settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and provide direct speech and language therapy to students with language impairments
- Implement and oversee augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate with educators and multidisciplinary teams in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Screen, assess, and monitor student progress; document and maintain detailed records for Medicaid billing and reporting
- Provide training and support to staff, parents, and community members regarding speech-language interventions and AAC
- Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants as applicable
- Act as a liaison among families, schools, and related service providers
- Participate regularly in meetings and maintain punctuality and consistent attendance to ensure program continuity
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Oregon licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Experience working in school or special education settings
- Strong knowledge of AAC systems and individualized student interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to equity and collaborative teamwork
- Ability to develop and implement effective speech and language programs
