A dynamic Travel Speech-Language Pathologist role is available for the 2025-2026 school year in a scenic waterfront city in Maryland, known for its marinas and vibrant boating community. This itinerant position involves providing specialized speech and language services within a school setting, totaling 37.5 hours per week. Conveniently located just under two hours from Washington, D.C., this role offers unique weekend travel opportunities to the nation’s capital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments using standardized tests and clinical observations to evaluate speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities.
- Develop accurate diagnoses based on assessment findings to guide effective treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based speech, language, voice, and swallowing therapy tailored to pediatric populations.
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment strategies as necessary while educating and supporting patients and families on communication improvement.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, and patient progress in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure holistic patient care.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Maryland state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Demonstrated proficiency in patient assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems.
