School Speech Language Pathologist - Joliet, Illinois
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the 2026-2027 school year, located in Shorewood, IL. This contract role offers an opportunity to work closely with K-8 students across a cross-categorical caseload, providing essential speech and language services in a school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language impairments
- Deliver speech therapy services to students from kindergarten through 8th grade, addressing a broad range of communication disorders
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to promote students’ communication skills and academic success
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in team meetings
- Utilize evidence-based practices to support student goals and comply with regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
- Experience working within school environments, preferably with a K-8 population
- Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders and appropriate intervention strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and school personnel
- Ability to manage a cross-categorical caseload and adapt to diverse student needs
