Pediatric School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Alexandria, Virginia
Step into an exciting opportunity to support K-12 students as a valued Speech-Language Pathologist or Assistant on a welcoming and close-knit team. In this full-time, contract role, you’ll collaborate with seven other dedicated professionals to deliver exceptional speech-language services throughout the school year. Both experienced therapists and new graduates are encouraged—mentorship and a collegial environment await you.
This position spans from August 7, 2026, to June 11, 2027, providing 37.5 hours each week (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch) as part of a small group committed to student success and professional growth. With a manageable caseload of 55 students across varying grade levels, you’ll experience variety and the rewarding task of making a daily impact.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active or eligible Virginia SLP or SLPA license required
- ASHA CCCs (Certificate of Clinical Competence) for SLPs preferred; CFYs are welcome to apply
- Prior experience in school-based or pediatric settings is ideal, including student internships or clinical fellowships
- Strong collaboration skills—open to teamwork and mentorship in a supportive environment
- Familiarity with teletherapy, healthcare settings, or a desire to learn is appreciated
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech/language and communication assessments for K-12 students
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans
- Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and fellow therapists to support student growth
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings as needed
