Though it is the ninth largest in area, Wyoming has the lowest population of all 50 states. What it may “lack” in people it more than makes up for in its mind-blowing vistas, clear blue skies and some of the most fascinating national parks anywhere. Come see it all yourself when you take an SLP job in Wyoming. The majority of the famous Yellowstone Park lies within Wyoming, with Old Faithful as just one of its spouting geysers (Lonestar Geyser is another). A whopping 97 percent of the Park’s 3,400 square miles are undeveloped to this day. In addition, some of the lesser-known natural wonders are here, including the Grand Tetons, Devils Tower, and Jackson Hole.
Devils Tower is a bluntly topped rock formation that attracts rock climbers to its vertical rock walls. American Indians consider this spot sacred, and they are right. Jackson Hole is a favorite spot for skiers as it offers the longest continuous vertical run of any ski area in the US (4,139 feet) and some of the best “powder” anywhere. It also manages to attract people in the summer – not difficult considering the gorgeous views, prime mountain biking trails, fireworks, and music festival. The Grand Tetons are a jagged beauty in their own right, with the snow-capped peaks looming over the woodlands, fields and rivers below. Wyoming may be sparsely populated, but you will be too busy enveloped in the great outdoors to notice during your next SLP job!
