A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is sought for a contract position during the 2025-2026 school year in Hayward, CA. This role supports TK-8 students within a school setting, providing speech and language assessments, therapy, and consultative services aligned with special education plans. The position offers a structured Monday through Friday schedule and requires in-person work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech and language screenings and evaluations for students referred to special education.
  • Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to interpret assessment results and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development.
  • Provide direct therapy to students with speech and language impairments, facilitating their communication for academic and personal growth.
  • Offer consultative support to school personnel in speech and language diagnosis and remediation.
  • Maintain effective communication with families, staff, and healthcare agencies to monitor student progress.
  • Assist in the development of appropriate language programs for classroom and community settings.

Qualifications:

  • Active California Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license.
  • Experience and training in speech and language assessment, evaluation, and consultation.
  • Previous school-based experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of special education procedures and disability categories.
  • Ability to build positive professional relationships with staff, students, families, and community partners.
  • Effective communication skills, including active listening and appropriate use of communication channels.
  • Commitment to supporting students with special education needs and their families.
  • Capability to incorporate a positive and engaging atmosphere within the workplace.

This full-time or part-time contract position begins ASAP and continues through May 29, 2026.
