Provide specialized speech-language pathology services in an inpatient medical-surgical setting, focusing on the evaluation and treatment of patients with dysphagia and communication disorders. This role requires expertise in managing acute care cases, including conducting Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) and Video Fluoroscopic Swallow Studies (VFSS) to ensure comprehensive patient assessment and effective therapy plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver inpatient medical-surgical speech therapy services, emphasizing dysphagia management.
  • Perform and interpret MBS and VFSS to diagnose swallowing disorders accurately.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Document patient progress and maintain compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
  • Educate patients and families regarding communication and swallowing interventions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed to practice Speech Pathology by the California State Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proven experience in inpatient acute care, medical-surgical settings, with a focus on dysphagia therapy.
  • Proficiency in conducting MBS and VFSS studies.

Schedule:

  • Tue-Sat, Wed-Sun, or Sat-Wed options available to accommodate various preferences.
