This opportunity is for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with inpatient hospital experience, working under a contract assignment across two medical centers in the Blue Springs, MO area. The role involves providing skilled speech therapy services to patients in the inpatient units of two facilities, supporting evaluation and treatment including advanced procedures such as video swallow studies.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid CCC certification is required.
- Proven experience in inpatient speech therapy settings.
- Proficiency in performing video swallow assessments.
- Comfortable working across multiple sites, with floating between two hospitals approximately 15 minutes apart.
- Ability to document efficiently using Meditech system.
- Professional appearance by adhering to a scrub dress code (no specific color required).
Location and Work Environment: You will split your time between two respected medical centers: one with 71 inpatient beds and the other with 88 beds. Both facilities are equipped with modern therapy technologies and maintain a supportive clinical environment. Scheduling typically follows a weekday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm shift, adjusted based on caseload demands. There are no on-call duties.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct thorough speech-language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Perform video swallow studies to assess and treat dysphagia.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation according to hospital policy.
- Support floating between the two inpatient units as needed.
