Speech & Language Pathology - Ahoskie, North Carolina
A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist in a hospital setting, with a primary focus on outpatient services. This role encompasses both pediatric and adult caseloads, offering a dynamic environment for clinical practice. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting September 8, with a strong likelihood of full-time hours each week.
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- On-call rotation every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM) for acute care NPO orders only
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active North Carolina SLP license required
- Clinical experience in both outpatient and acute care settings preferred
- Proficient in conducting Videofluoroscopic Swallow Studies (VFSS)
- Previous experience working with both pediatric (70%) and adult (30%) outpatient populations
- Acute care work exclusively with adult patients
- Navy scrubs required during all shifts
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the healthcare team
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based speech therapy to pediatric and adult patients in an outpatient setting
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and design individualized treatment plans tailored to specific patient needs
- Serve all adults in acute care capacity
- Perform and interpret VFSS assessments as indicated
- Participate in weekend on-call rotation, addressing NPO orders in acute cases
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the hospital’s electronic medical records system
