Job Description:
Summary: The School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will play a vital role in helping students at all grade levels (K-12) develop and improve their communication and language skills. This position is a full-time role for the first semester of the school year and will provide assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic services to students with speech and language disorders, contributing to their overall academic and social success.
Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
- Collaborate with other professionals to gather information and conduct thorough evaluations.
- Analyze assessment results and develop individualized treatment plans.

Therapeutic Interventions:
- Provide evidence-based speech and language therapy to students, both individually and in small groups.
- Implement therapeutic strategies to address speech sound disorders, language deficits, fluency disorders, and social communication challenges.
- Monitor progress and adjust intervention plans as needed.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and communication with parents/guardians and school staff.
- Generate written reports and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.

Collaboration:
- Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and other school staff to support students' educational goals.
- Provide guidance and support to classroom teachers regarding strategies to facilitate students' language and communication development.

Parent/Guardian Communication:
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and therapy recommendations.
- Offer guidance and resources to parents/guardians to support speech and language development at home.

Professional Development:
- Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology and pursue professional development opportunities as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience working with K-12 students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and adapt to the needs of diverse student populations.
Term of Employment: This position is full-time for the first semester of the school year, with the possibility of extension based on the needs of the school district.
