Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in New Orleans, LA
Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Belle Chasse, LA
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: May 22nd
Hours per week: Full-time, 40 hours
Caseload/Number of students: Approximately 40 students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 10-15 students receiving intervention services
Grade Level: PreK-6th
Job Duties:
- Provide speech-language therapy services to students with a variety of disabilities, including mild, moderate, and severe.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' communication needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to support students' academic and social-emotional success.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and communication with stakeholders.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and other team meetings as needed.
- Stay informed about best practices and research in the field of speech-language pathology.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid Louisiana license or eligibility for licensure in Louisiana
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Note: This position does not involve virtual therapy. All services will be provided in-person at the assigned schools.
