Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Milner, KY
Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Milner, KY. As an SLP in our school district, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse caseload of students, providing comprehensive speech and language services to support their communication needs. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to assess students, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to enhance their communication skills and academic success.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of students' speech, language, and communication abilities to identify areas of strength and areas of need.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on assessment results and student goals.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders, including articulation therapy, language intervention, fluency therapy, and social communication skills training.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom curriculum and daily activities.
- Monitor students' progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed to promote optimal outcomes.
- Provide consultation and support to parents, teachers, and other team members on strategies for promoting speech and language development in the classroom and home environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessment results, therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant information.
Educational Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Certifications:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Valid Kentucky state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as an SLP in a school or pediatric setting.
- Knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems and assistive technology devices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
