School-Based Speech Pathology Assistant | Winter Haven, Florida

Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students ages PreK through 22 as a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). Based near Winter Haven, FL, you’ll be part of a collaborative, school-based practice working closely with occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and physical therapists. You’ll make a meaningful impact by providing both one-on-one and group sessions, with a caseload of 25–30 students, including those diagnosed with ASD and those utilizing AAC devices.
Start your assignment on August 10, 2026, and continue through May 27, 2027, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. This clinical environment values team synergy, clinical best practices, and continuity of care for students with diverse needs.
Requirements for Success:
- Active Florida SLPA license required
- Previous experience in schools or pediatric settings strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication)
- Familiarity with Medicaid billing
- Ability to provide therapy in both individual and group formats
- Experience coordinating with OTs, PTs, and SLPs
- Strong communication skills and adaptability working with ASD students
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver speech-language therapy to students ages PreK–22
- Document progress and manage Medicaid billing responsibilities
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on treatment plans
- Provide input and feedback to families, educators, and the interdisciplinary team
- Implement evidence-based interventions to foster student growth
- Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal regulations
