Key Qualifications:
- Active California SLPA license required
- Previous experience working with school-aged children, especially students with moderate/severe needs and AAC devices, is highly valued
- Familiarity with school-based documentation and procedures
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working closely with supervising SLPs and educational teams
- Commitment to meeting the individualized needs of a diverse student population
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect speech-language therapy services under supervision, following each student’s IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, SLPs, and other professionals to support classroom and individualized learning
- Collect data, maintain detailed session notes, and assist in progress monitoring
- Support AAC device use and communication strategies for students who benefit from these tools
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and adaptive learning environment
Position Details:
- On-site role at an assigned elementary site
- Full-time hours during the school year, with the assignment anticipated to run until December 18, 2026—and potential for extension
- Supervision provided by a district SLP following professional guidelines
- Interview can be conducted remotely and decisions made quickly, often within 24 hours of meeting
