Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting K-12 students as a School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) on a contract assignment in the greater Kansas City area. This role begins ASAP and continues through May 21, 2027. You’ll play a vital part in assisting licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing communication therapy to students across the district—helping lighten larger caseloads and ensuring each learner has access to needed services.
As an SLPA, you’ll enjoy the flexibility of creating your own schedule and determining how many schools (typically up to three) you visit each week. Your work will focus on delivering direct therapy, supporting SLP-led treatment plans, and gathering critical progress data.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
- Kansas SLPA licensure or eligibility
- Experience working in or supporting educational settings
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfort with K-12 populations
- Ability to collaborate with supervising SLPs and multiple school teams
- Skilled in direct therapy techniques and data collection
Responsibilities include:
- Implementing therapy activities designed by supervising SLPs
- Traveling between assigned schools on a flexible, self-determined schedule
- Collecting, logging, and reporting student progress data
- Supporting the communication needs of diverse student populations
- Maintaining diligent communication with SLPs and educational staff
