Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) near Orange Park, FL. You'll play a vital role in helping children develop essential communication skills at one assigned campus from a select group of elementary and center schools. This full-time position spans 35 hours per week and runs through the end of the school year.
What You'll Bring:
- Active Florida Department of Health SLPA licensure
- At least 2 years of experience as an SLPA (minimum 6 months within a school-based setting)
- Experience supporting school-aged children, ideally in an educational or special needs environment
- Fingerprinting completed for a Florida school district, or willingness to complete verification and reprints as needed
- Commitment to professional growth and high ethical standards
- Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
What You'll Do:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to a traditional caseload of elementary-age students
- Collaborate closely with certified SLPs and multi-disciplinary teams to implement IEP goals
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school-based meetings as required
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment for students with varying levels of need
- Comply with all district and licensure guidelines, including timely submission of credentials, fingerprints, and completion of the JLA badge process
