An opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support K-12 students within a school setting located in Oceanside, CA. This contract position is designed for the current school year (CSY) and involves approximately 20 hours of service per week.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct speech-language therapy support to students under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Assisting with the implementation of individualized treatment plans in a school environment.
- Collaborating with the SLP during scheduled consultation times to discuss student progress and therapy strategies.
- Documenting sessions and maintaining required records in compliance with school policies.
- Supporting classroom activities that reinforce speech and language goals.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Experience as an SLPA in educational settings, preferably working with K-12 populations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to student-centered care.
- Availability to work primarily on Mondays and Tuesdays, with additional hours for SLP consultation.
- Knowledge of school-based speech therapy protocols.
