Speech Therapy Assistant - Chowchilla, CA
A full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available within a school district in Madera, CA. This role supports preschool-aged students across multiple sites and involves direct service delivery, evaluations, and participation in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. The SLPA will provide essential speech-language support under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech therapy services across 5-6 preschool locations during morning hours.
- Conduct afternoon home visits to support 7 homebound preschool children with flexible parent scheduling.
- Facilitate evaluations and assist in IEP planning and implementation.
- Communicate effectively with families and educational teams to support students’ progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district policies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience in school settings preferred.
- Ability to manage itinerant schedules and work independently.
- Bilingual Spanish skills highly desirable to meet community needs.
- Must be a certified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
- Comfortable performing home visits and working collaboratively with families.
Location and Work Environment: This is a contract position serving multiple preschool sites and home settings in the Madera, CA area. Mileage reimbursement is available for candidates willing to commute.
