A full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available in a K-12 school setting located in Valencia, CA. This contract role begins ASAP and continues through the remainder of the current school year, providing an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with a diverse student caseload.
Responsibilities:
- Assist speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized treatment plans for K-12 students
- Conduct speech and language screenings and carry out therapy sessions under supervision
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes according to school policies
- Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student communication goals
- Prepare materials and resources needed for therapy sessions
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Completion of an accredited SLPA program or equivalent training
- Prior experience working with children in a school environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, assessment techniques, and intervention strategies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a varied K-12 caseload effectively
- Relevant certification or licensure as required by the state or school district
